It is with immense sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Marie Mai Roy at her residence on Sunset Drive in Bathurst, surrounded by her family, on December 20, 2025, at the age of 82. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald J. Roy. Born in Allardville, she was the daughter of the late Benoit Blanchard and the late Catherine Leclerc.
She was the devoted mother of Debby (Glen Stothart) of Jardineville, NB; Diane of Bathurst; Ronald Jr. of Alberta; and Joanne (Garnet Harris) of London, Ontario. She was an adoring grandmother to Jamie, Brian, Justin, Matthew, Nicholas, and Savannah.
She is also survived by her brother Jacques of Bathurst, and her sisters: Marie-Anne (Gaby) of Caraquet, Lina of Stoney Creek, Doris of Bathurst, Marie-Claire (Rodolphe) of Beresford, Linda (Harvey) of Nigadoo, Lucie (Brian) of Ottawa, Thérèse of Petit-Rocher, and Nicole (Wally) of Shediac.
She was predeceased by her brothers Albénie, Joseph, Raymond, Gerald, Roger, Claude, François, and Philippe, and her sisters Yvonne, Jeanette, Susie, Emilia, and Elizabeth.
Mom lived a life dedicated to caring for others, both within her family and through her 25 years of service at Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. We miss you deeply, Mom, but take comfort in knowing you are now an angel in heaven, just as you were on earth.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Extra-Mural home care team for their compassion, support, and kindness.
